Month 1: Introduction to DevOps & Linux Basics

• What is DevOps?
  • Understanding the DevOps lifecycle, principles, and practices.
  • DevOps culture: Collaboration, automation, and continuous improvement.
• Linux Basics:
  • Command-line interface (CLI), shell scripting, file management, permissions.
  • Basic networking commands (ping, netstat, ssh).
  • System monitoring and process management.
• Version Control with Git:
  • Introduction to Git for version control.
  • Branching, merging, pull requests, and GitHub/GitLab.
  • Collaborating with teams using Git workflows.

Month 2: Continuous Integration (CI) & Continuous Deployment (CD)

• CI/CD Pipeline Fundamentals:
  • Importance of CI/CD in modern development.
  • Overview of the CI/CD process: Building, testing, and deploying.
• Jenkins:
  • Setting up Jenkins for automation.
  • Creating build pipelines, configuring jobs.
  • Integrating Jenkins with Git, automated testing, and reporting.
• Other CI/CD Tools:
  • CircleCI, TravisCI, GitLab CI/CD: Overview and comparison.
• Build Tools:
  • Working with Maven, Gradle, and other build automation tools.

Month 3: Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
  • Understanding the concept of IaC and its importance.
  • Introduction to cloud computing environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Terraform:
  • Managing infrastructure with Terraform (writing, testing, and deploying infrastructure code).
  • Working with AWS, Azure, or GCP using Terraform.
  • Versioning and sharing infrastructure configurations.
• Ansible:
  • Introduction to Ansible for configuration management and automation.
  • Writing playbooks to automate server setup.
  • Managing infrastructure at scale using Ansible.
• Puppet & Chef (Overview):
  • Basic understanding of other configuration management tools.
  • Differences between Ansible, Puppet, and Chef.

Month 4: Containerization & Orchestration

• Docker:
  • Introduction to Docker and containerization concepts.
  • Building, managing, and deploying containers.
  • Docker Compose for multi-container applications.
• Kubernetes:
  • Introduction to container orchestration with Kubernetes.
  • Deploying, managing, and scaling containerized applications using Kubernetes.
  • Kubernetes architecture (nodes, pods, services, etc.).
  • Hands-on with Minikube or managed Kubernetes services (EKS, AKS, GKE).
• Monitoring Containers:
  • Using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack for monitoring and logging containerized applications.
  • Implementing alerting and visualizing metrics.

Month 5: Cloud Platforms & DevOps Automation

• AWS/Azure/GCP:
  • Overview of cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Managing cloud resources (EC2, S3, VPC, Lambda, etc.) via CLI and management consoles.
  • Working with cloud-native DevOps services (AWS CodePipeline, Azure DevOps, GCP Cloud Build).
• CI/CD in the Cloud:
  • Building automated CI/CD pipelines in AWS CodePipeline, Azure DevOps, and GCP Cloud Build.
  • Continuous deployment to cloud environments.
• Serverless Computing:
  • Introduction to serverless architectures.
  • Working with AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, or Google Cloud Functions.
• Automation & Scripting:
  • Scripting with Bash, PowerShell, and Python for automating routine tasks in DevOps workflows.
  • Using automation tools for deploying infrastructure and managing cloud resources.

Month 6: Monitoring, Security, and Final Project

• Monitoring & Logging:
  • Introduction to centralized logging and monitoring.
  • Tools like ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk.
  • Monitoring the health and performance of applications and infrastructure.
• Security in DevOps (DevSecOps):
  • Understanding security in the DevOps lifecycle.
  • Best practices for securing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Introduction to tools like SonarQube for static code analysis.
  • Implementing secrets management (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager).
• Capstone Project:
  • Building a complete CI/CD pipeline from scratch.
  • Deploying a full application with containers (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and monitoring.
  • Use cloud infrastructure for deployment and scaling.
  • Demonstrate automation with Terraform or Ansible.
• Career Preparation:
  • Resume building, interview prep (technical and behavioral).
  • Building a DevOps portfolio (showcasing your work on GitHub or personal website).
  • Mock technical interviews focused on DevOps tools and practices.
